KISS…not only the hottest but the most benevolent band in the universe…

A few months ago, we contacted our friend Eric Singer and other key people in the KISS camp to help with the 19th Annual Veterans Holiday Celebration. We were amazed at the outpouring of support we received for the wonderful men and women of the US Armed Forces.

The Veterans Holiday Celebration is a grassroots, all volunteer, donation based event. This year, we fed over 4,500 veterans a gourmet meal and provided gift bags to each attendee. Many of these veterans are living in halfway houses and hospitals in the Los Angeles area. The KISS Army Vixens hosted a booth at the event where our mission was to allow the veterans to feel like the rock stars they are.

Eric Singer contacted the other members of KISS and Live Nation. They sent us over a truckload of officially licensed KISS concert t-shirts to give away at the event. In addition, various members of the KISS Army donated their personal signed KISS memorabilia (along with other merchandise) to hand out to our American heroes.

We wanted to express our sincere gratitude to Eric Singer, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer, Keith Leroux; as well as Phil Cussen and Ramsey Sharif of Live Nation.

In the millions strong KISS Army (and Navy) we would like to give thanks to Michael Gershe, Carl Butcher, Don Ohina, Caleigha Starchild, Fifi Larue, Ed Universo, Jessica Fernandez, Shanti Fletcher, Bo Blackey, Steven Weiss, Sher Bach, Sylvia Lopez and Anthony and Matt Porter, among many others who wrote letters and cards to the veterans.

Check out this clip from last week's Mexico Telethon 2011. Gene donated a signed AXE bass to help this charity event that benefits handicapped kids in Mexico. The Telethon raised almost $40,000,000.00 for this great cause!

JON DAVIES FUND-RAISING CONCERT

On Friday December 16, KISS Tribute band 'KISS Forever' will play a concert in memory of fallen Worcester, Massachusetts Firefighter Jon Davies. The concert begins at 9:30PM until 12:30PM and is located at JJ's Sports Bar at 380SW Northborough, MA.

This is a free concert to attend with an optional donation collected which will be given directly to the Davies family. The band will also be making a donation directly to the family following this show. 21+ to attend.

Firefighter Jon Davies of the Worcester Fire Department died in the line of duty on December 8th. Davies was 43 years old and was scheduled to be married on New Year’s Eve, officials said. He was the father of three sons, including two sons who are in the military. One son is deployed to Afghanistan. Davies also leaves behind his mother and a sister.

KISS Army member Hellem Santos sent over a KISS sighting on Brazilian TV! On the Eliana network program,"Rola ou Enrola," a contestant surprised the audience by taking the stage dressed as Gene Simmons!

Rare Kiss Record Case Sells for $4,000

A 1979 Kiss record case sold for $4,000 during an eBay auction that ended on Dec. 4. This black wood case is a coveted piece of memorabilia and features the cover art from each of the original band members’ 1978 solo albums.

Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss all get their own side of the box, and the copyright of ‘Aucoin Management, Inc. 1979 by agreement with Kiss, a partnership’ is printed in small text on the outside.

The most intriguing thing about this item is the chance in a million factor that it included the original J.C. Penny Catalog shipping box that it came in. Most kids would’ve ripped that carton to shreds upon its arrival but like the band, even the box had star-power, with the iconic Kiss logo printed on the cardboard casing.

The seller, a longtime Kiss fan and the original owner of this record case, admitted to not wanting to part with this item but due to the financial crisis, made the decision to let it go. More of this seller‘s items are expected to go up for auction in the coming weeks.

(P.S., we’ve got a photocopier, a table saw and a hammer — we can make you one just like this for half the price!)

I'm 27 from Israel and I would like to introduce to you the best and the only Israeli KISS tribute band - The Israeli KISS. You can listen to our version of "Love Gun," we changed the words to Hebrew but the music is the same as the original. Hope you will like it..we had great time recording the song and make a tribute to our heros KISS!

The Israeli KISS

Here are a few pics from the sculpting process of Gene's head and Paul's boot. Both will become props on the KISS by Monster Mini Golf course. The boot is a rough sculpt and is big enough for kids to actually walk under.

Sculpting is a multi-step and tedious process so each prop will be fine tuned to perfection prior to painting.

Here's another picture of Paul's boot and one of the giant guitars (an Iceman) that will become props on the KISS by Monster Mini Golf course. The boot is a rough sculpt and is big enough for kids to actually walk under and will have light-up laces added as well! The top of the boot will be custom carved to appear as if it is actually going through the ceiling.

The Iceman guitar is in its skeleton stage but it will give you an idea of size. The guy standing next to it is about 6'5" and the guitar is approx 22' long. It is going to be amazing!
